Unable to connect to smb share from Windows 7

I was using samba share to copy files from my work laptop running windows to MBP. It was working with Windows XP i think and not after upgrading to Windows 7 but i am not very sure.
My work laptop is on exchange domain. it was on domain when running on XP also.
Any help? my backup has stopped as i used to copy files from work laptop to MBP which is connected to external disk for Timemachine.
What is missing?

What message, if any, do you get when trying to connect to the SMB share?
It's likely that the Windows machine is trying to connect to the Mac SMB share using the Windows-configured domain, so it's sending something like DOMAIN\username. You need to set it send YOUR-MAC-HOSTNAME\mac-username. You can get the hostname (share name) in the Sharing preferences pane; it's at the top of the window. You also want to be sure you're connecting with a username/password set up on the Mac.

Yes my Windows laptop is on domain.
I get Access Denied first so i try to login with "IP-Address-Mac\Mac-Username" but get error such as 'Drive already mapped with another use' or ' you don't have permission'.
i will post exact message once at home.
Is it must to use MAC-HOSTNAME and not IP when providing user name?

Have you tried, at the smb authorization prompt, domain\user and password?
Or user@domain and password.

What about going the other way around? I find Mac OS has no trouble connecting to Windows shares.
Finder->Go->Connect to Server... (or use ⌘K)
Server Address: smb://WIN-HOSTNAME/C$ (or whatever share you've created)
Use DOMAIN\Username to connect.

Yes this works but then i use SyncToy utility on windows to sync my folders. I haven't found good enough application on Mac that syncs files correctly. I have tried SyncTwoFolders, Silverkeeper. So i prefer to map Mac folder on Windows.
