OK, so I live in an RV park.

I live in a Winnebago with 3 dogs.

I wanna try fishing in the nearby river.

I pay people in beer for advice and help on the RV.

But, at least with the cash saved... I don't think anyone has my setup in this park.

Make the best of what you have.

I like it just fine.

I have house on the market that appreciated nicely, thanks. When it sells, I will buy another once the market comes down, I will make more.

I bought a used RV that has already done most of it's depreciating, ok?

When you can afford to own a house and an RV, come talk to me.

Designer. I do some on the side. But, right now, I am in grad school and want to focus on that. I just moved from NH to GA, so this is what I got.

I'm happy for now.

Thank you.

I just decided to learn more and move to a new state. Who knows where it will go from here. I'll let you know in a couple of years.

This, from the guy who pays someone to let him live in their place. Otherwise known as renting.

I rented in College. But not since then. I've owned my house outright for a few years.

The strange thing about this thread is, I don't think leehotti meant anything negative by that remark. Perhaps I've missed something big, but that post alone reads relatively harmlessly - just a difference of opinion.

Wrong again. Plenty of home owners got stung in the late 80s/early 90s here in the UK and ended up with a mortgage larger than the value of their house. A crash of this nature (and a massive one) is due to hit the UK and US sometime real soon:

He was telling KeriVit that she had made a wrong financial decision.

I was telling Rob that he did the same thing.

Good for you, Keri.
When I lived in London, I lived on a boat for a while, for similar reasons. Wait until the you've finished your studies and see where the housing market has moved by then. This might work out better than you could have thought.

Yeah, sweet set-up. As long as you got your Macs does it really matter where you live?

As for alternative living arrangments, I spent a year living on a sail-boat in Washington, DC. The September 11th attacks put an end to that--The marina was on the river behind the military base used to evacuate members of Congress in times of national emergency. The whole area become a bit of a no-mans-land after that.

So, what's up with your gal-pal? Is she with you or still overseas in Iraq? I'd say if you've got your Macs, your dogs, and your beloved where and how you live doesn't really matter.
Just enjoy!

I'm sorry if this question is a little personal, but how much do you pay to rent out a slab of concrete at the RV park? How do you get an Internet connection in your RV?

That's cool man. Way to save money by purchasing used unlike the retards who buy brand new cars. But if you're a student and you own what you live in, that's rad.

I'm still stuck renting, which sucks, but it's not a choice. Can't afford a downpayment on anything at this moment, so until I get out of school it's going to be wasting money on landlords. Hooray.

sounds like a liberating way to live for a while. My folks did the RV thing while their house was being built. Guess that's an advantage of living down south, and something you couldn't have done if, say, you'd gone to grad school in New England. Never knew GA had a good design school.

Looks pretty nice KV (yes I just gave you a nickname). I very nearly went to Savannah College way back when I but I chickened out and stayed up in New York.

How do you like Savannah? Are you from GA or NH? I actually have been considering moving up to NH, as I enjoy it so much every time I go up there.

Oh and I've had crappy Euroflats that looked much worse. Oh and Mas, my dream is to live on one of them houseboats in Sausalito. A friend of mine there showed me around the inside of some of them - they're AMAZING. My favorite had a window next to the bed, and the bed was at the same level as the water line.

Less than $300- works for me cuz they allow my 3 dogs- no apartment owner would allow that and the RV and the slab still cost less than an apartment.

Cable is provided free. i simply went to comcast, got the self-install kit and hooked up the cable modem to my ariport and SHAZAM!

(OK, it was a little more complicated, I buried the cable before I checked the connection and ended up digging it out to use less splitters.)

I love Savannah. I grew up in GA and LA, been in NH 12 years- really wanted to head back down south. I hate the cold... regardless, it has been a mild winter everywhere.

Technically you're 'White Trailer Trash'.

Rednecks work (drink) out in the sun all day and have fried brains along with necks, drive pickup trucks with rifle racks and the back is filled with crushed beer cans...oh and speak like Bush.

So sorry, you're not in the club.

Hit the quick reply button then check the box for "quote message in reply?" and you'll have it down!

Now about the comment. Houses can be great assets, location is a huge factor. There is a nearby town that is selling 1500 sq ft houses right now for under $50,000. The larger city nearby, oklahoma city, is getting closer and closer, meaning that the property values are going up on a MONTHLY basis.

You can currently buy a house and sell it in just a few months and make several thousand.

Again, houses can be great assets, just not with three mortgages on them!
