[gradient]

iPhoto image capture have stopped recognizing cameras when they are plugged in to my G5 which is very frustrating! In the Activity Monitor I constantly get the Image Capture Extension not responding. Below is the crash report from Image Capture.... any ideas? I've tried repairing permissions and restarting to no avail.

To be clear, iPhoto isn't the one crashing, cameras just don't show up. Image capture seems to be the real problem.

No I haven't. iPhoto won't recognize either my dedicated camera or my iPhone camera. The Image Capture extension will also stop responding without a camera even being plugged in.

I have the very same with a Canon EOS 400D with PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0GHz, a MacBook Pro 17" 2.4 GHz, and a MacBook, all running latest 7 greatest Leopard-up-to-date-version.

I have shot thousands of pics with this camera, attached it to all these Macs with no problems whatsoever.
Came to have a look here if someone else is having the same problems, and indeed it does.
Will see if I can find something else.
Right now the camera is seen by iPhoto when you first start up iPhoto and then turn on the camera...

OK, solution: erase your card in the camera (after importing the photo's with a card reader).

I erased the card within Disk Utility, but that doesn't work, as my Canon didn't like the card.
Sandisk states that it often is better to erase it in the camera, which I did.
After this, iPhoto opens and behaves the way it should.
