Have you any reservations about your move to the mac? Are there any elements of your experience that don't match up to the PC experience? Has the "novelty" worn off yet?

No reservations whatsoever. Like it better every day. It's more "fun" to use. "Novelty factor" still high. I'm sitting in my bed, writing this completely wireless (AirPort Extreme).

The only thing I'd like on OS X would be KaZaa.

That's good news. Have you tried Limewire?

Hi all,

Does the Shipping Notification give any indication as to when your machines will arrive? Would love to know as I'm desparetly trying to get hold of a machine.

According to a well known distributor, 60 PB 17" are being shipped to the UK. PC World stores get 1 each (!), and then the rest go to other authorised resellers etc. Apparently, if they receive a single machine then it has to be used for Display purposes only.

I guess Apple Stores may get priority so congratulations to you all.

BTW Try Aquisition for peer to to peer file sharing. You can find it on versiontracker.com

Acquisition is the best P-to-P app there is on the Mac. It's $15 shareware, but it's worth it. I am going to try it a few more days then pay the fee.

The UK online Apple store now claims that the 17 inch powerbook is now shipping with no delay.

The floodgates should open over the course of the next 2 weeks. BTW, my local PCWorld is experiencing unprecedented demand.
