If you haven't opened Azureus in a while, check it out. You'll have to download a bunch of updates and relaunch after each time, but once you're done you'll find a new Azureus status menu in the menu bar and hot new Mac iconic goodness for each of the files you've got in your list instead of the generic icons previously displayed.

NICE!

I ditched all bittorrent sites and apps because this one is so damn good:

Xtorrent. Torrents for Mac OS X.

I'm also a very occasional user of Transmission version 0.7-svn -which now I can't remember where I downloaded from- has delivered a huge improvement in amount of peers connected giving me an unprecedented speed boost.

Y no entienden nada... ¡y cómo se divierten!...

Azureus is bloated and has a crappy interface, but nothing even comes close to it in features. Maybe when something else comes out that will let me subscribe to torrents using an RSS feed, I'll switch. But until then, I gotta stick with Azureus.

Thank you for the link, SWG. I'll give it a try.

Jago is already impressed by Xtorrent. Jago may consider purchasing it.

That being said, does anyone think it's a little shady to pay in advance for free upgrades to 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 etc?

Perhaps you'll be switching sooner than you think! From the Xtorrent Blog:

This rearchitecting work was done to lay a foundation for future advanced features and facilitate future integration work between the search pane, downloads pane, and (as of yet unreleased) RSS module.

Well, I spoke too soon about this update to Azureus being impressive. It's apparently causing my G5 to panic on sleep when it's open. It's possible that it's due to the fact that I haven't updated Java (because I don't trust it), but that's only a guess.

FWIW, I use Azureus extensively and have had no problems with the updates.

I swear by Azureus. Azuleus, as it should be named

Runs fine on a G4 iBook.

Azureus crashes on launch for me, no idea why. 10.4.8, Intel C2D, Java release 5, Azureus 2.5.0.4. No reason why it should be crashing. Someone needs to get on and port uTorrent.
