My firewall log indicates that I am being bombarded by TCP 75.128.19.127. How can I find out who they are?

Google "Reverse IP lookup"
Won't help you though

Thanks turtle, I locate it in Vallejo, CA. but with no identification. Is there a way that I can block it?

Huh? Your firewall is built so that you can do things like block IPs... Why would you want a firewall for your firewall? If it is blocking the IP, it is doing the job. If the logs are taking up too much disk space, turn off logging or gzip/bzip2 them every night if you aren't already doing so.

Better yet, just get behind a little old Linksys or some other hardware router/firewall and let that take the heat rather than your Mac.

I'm surprised you know HOW to check your firewall logs, but you don't know the mechanics behind it all.

besson, good point. I would like to find a way to turn it back upon the prober if possible.
turtle, I was exploring system preferences when I came across the firewall log.
I recently bought yesterday's MBP and Leopard is my first system X. My previous Mac was a PowerMac G4/400 with OS 9. I am reading Pogue's Leopard book but still am overwhelmed with all the new terminology I have to learn for all the stuff I never used before.

What do you mean by "turned back" upon the prober?

Let every probe bounce back to the sender; flood his device.

But packet requests are one way, they don't bounce like an email message can. They are either blocked or permitted to pass.
