A/K/A those things you said you’d totally do in 2020, like fixing the rat’s nest.
Work in progress. I’m waiting on a new UPS.
Phun historical phact: the stand and receiver are some 90s shit. The latter survived multiple cat barfings.

Suggest using a labeler. Add ID tags to all the cord ends. Slightly less neat, but way easier to service in the future.
Bonus use: label all the breakers in your circuit breaker box.

Super clean. I went from a Mac Pro to an M1 Mini in 2020 and that was huge for clutter cleanup. I stuck the Mini in one of the desk drawers so all you see is the monitor and keyboard/mouse, no computer to be found.

The way things turned out it’s easier to trace what’s what than one would imagine. For all intents and purposes there’s never more than two identical cables.

Thank you!
My last Pro was a Quicksilver. I almost bought a trash can, but the clutter-free allure (and several thousand in savings) of an iMac won out.

No overheat concerns? I just bought one myself.

No issues so far, though I don't do any kind of intensive, extended rendering or anything like that.

Put in the UPS and I get an E21, which is an output short. Great. Now I have to yank it and wait another week for a replacement.
Then I get an h21, and Google has no idea what I’m talking about.
Then I realize I’m reading the voltage upside-down.

Everytime I setup a system it starts like that, but over the years of having to add things or change stuff it just becomes awful. I've learned not to care anymore.

This setup has been stable for long enough I’m hoping it’ll stay clean for awhile.
At least, once it’s truly finished. These photos were without the UPS, and also no Switch or AppleTV. I had yanked the latter two because I hadn’t used them in awhile, and the right length of HDMI isn’t immediately at hand. I’m using them both again, so I’ll figure something out.
Once that’s done, I don’t think I’ll have to change anything until something breaks or there’s a new Switch.
