RE4 is worth the purchase of a GameCube. Or you could hold out for the crappier (visually) PS2 version that will be coming out.

keeping in mind that black vertical line is a cd drive, it looks a significantly smaller than xbox. remember, this is more powerful than an xbox, which is currently the MOST powerful gaming console on the market. I am curious to see how large and powerful the PS 3 is going to be.

Talking about ports, I have played Sega Soccer Slam in both platforms, the GC original and then the PS2 port, with the PS2 it was a pain, slow every time you get all players on screen, I dont understand how they put that game in the (PS2) market, that is not serious. No idea how bad the PS2 is going to deal with RE4

I wonder, people have claimed there's anywhere from 2-3 g5s in there, ranging as high as 3ghz (who knows), and that thing looks no bigger than an 80's VCR, plus it can sit horizontally.....

Yet apple calls sticking the g5 in things THERMAL CHALLENGEs? It doesn't make any sense. Sure, that's a lot bigger than a laptop, but yeah..

I THINK the PS3 is going to be more powerful, some Sony exec called the XBox 360 a XBox 1.5..... to me, it seems more like:
150% XBox + TiVo = XBox 360.

Dosent anyone find it off that, Microsoft, touting HD video as the big thing for the XBox 360, and all it's got is a Dual Layer DVD drive or something (havent heard of it supporting either HD-DVD or Blu Ray).....

I might be jumping to conclusions here, but seeing as how the next gen media standard is going to be on both the PS3 and Revolution, i think Microsoft is making a mistake in rushing this console to market.(that is if, 360 dosent support HD-DVD or Blu Ray).
(In short, what good a HD-Video support when your not going to have the media that can handle it ?... it's kind alike PC users who use LCD screens with Analog video.)

As far as size, it's an improvement thats for sure, and as far as design, it definately looks sleeker than the ENIAC-esque Xbox.

Controller..... looks very sleek n smooth....ergonomic ? doubt it.

It will be, for sure it will be but I don't think it will matter.

I mean look at the PS2, it has GT4 in HD 1080i which looks better than anything else on any other system.

I'm assuming that they choose G5s as the dev machines cause the processor theyre using in the 360 is going to be a subset of the G5 (ie....the 360's PPC processor will have only the necessary instruction set and features of the G5...tailored to a gaming console, the same way the processor in the GameCube is a modified/subset of the PPC G3). That way MS could choose to get rid of the stuff that makes G5s run as hot as they do, and even bring the price of the processor down. Seeing as how both the Rev and 360 are going to be using derivatives of the PPC G5......i dont think processing power(physics calculation, AI, etc) and graphical power(video cards) are going to be very different.

2 mysteries at this point....
-processing power and graphical power of the PS3.... we have a clue of whats in the 360 and Rev thus far.
-And what the hell is so revolutionary about the NRev. Truely an Enigma, gives what we know thus far.

Also, how do u like billy saying that Ninty is going to be a Niche player this time around ? lol.... if you ask me, serves Nintendo right, cause they have never acknoledged Microsoft as a competitor either.

I really hope the Xbox 2 ("360" is stupid and I refuse to call it that) is able to use most of the same peripherals and add-ons that the existing Xbox uses, but I somehow doubt it. MS has said time and again that they intend to make money with the second generation, and what better way to do that than by making everyone re-purchase controllers, memory cards, headsets, and everything else they already have that works fine but just has a different port than what the Xb2 expects?
Genius. You know who.

Oh Boy, now I can have a hackish beige/white box next to my TV too!

If they were gonna go this route the least they could have done is shot for a standard HI-FI component with of about 17".

This thing looks to be a visual sore and a vertical monstrosity. And aren't the 'removable faceplates' sorta pass

Sure, it my play beautiful games, but hardly a beauty to the eye. iPod white a coincidence? Doubt it.

Is that where Apple's 3Ghz went?

No, as we suspected, it appears to be the PPE core of Cell. ie. Clock for clock each core will be MUCH slower than the G5. Still, at 3.2 GHz and 3 cores, it's gonna be a computing monster without going to as radical a design as Cell. (I mentioned it here, but be forewarned, it's blog material. )

RE4 is amazing on the gamecube. It really shows off what the system is capable of. That said, it's the only thing i've really played on the GC since i bought it off a friend a year or two ago.

Were u actually expecting something innovative from that company ? lol.... it does look better than the original, but original...no way. looks like a mish-mash of a VCR, iBook(While), put through an oven to melt the middle into a curve.

Anyway, we have yet to see what the other two (NRev and PS3) will look like. Comparing deisgn, in my opinion is relative.

Cheers.

I believe this is supposed to be "dot products" per second or something similar. A different way of measuring things, I suppose, but then again, I've never liked the "per second" way of measurement. Games should run between 60 and 30 FPS so you have to divide whatever they give you by 60 or 30 to get an idea of how many times whatever feature can be used per frame. And even then there are usually other little strings attached to these marketing figures (ie, a developer can achieve these speeds assuming they are doing nothing else, etc.).

I guess that means you charge them through USB and you can also use normal batteries.

I like that button is actually a screen showing you if updates are out.

Here's another guys translation

Bizarre Creations is right now working very hard on PGR3. The game will feature more cities, cars and the game will have some very impressive graphics.

Peter Moore can't say anything about Halo 3, but it's coming out this year!

Elders Scrolls IV is coming out this year!

Gears of War: Peter Moore showed us this game, and this is without no doubt the most beuatiful Xbox 360 game.

NBA 2k6: Together with Gears of War this was the most beuatiful Xbox 360 game, out of the games they showed us. The animation when they jump, land and sptint etc was breathtakingly realistic.

Xbox 360:

- 10-16 titles at release and atleast 40 titles after half a year
- Games coming out at release: Kameo, PD0, PGR3
- No price announced yet
- You can transfrom stuff from your an iPod

Peter Moore: We haven't heard anything new from Square, but I think ALL developers wants to develop games for Xbox 360.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Word on the street is that this "event" is going to suck. A lot of hype and talking to celebrities and very little solid information.

Probably a lot of what we already know with some actual footage of gameplay (which should be cool).

thats what I would expect from MTV, a whole lot of talking to people no one cares about (no one cares about when it comes to the main topic). Wonder if Bam Margera will come out and try to skate on top of the XBox (I find Viva La Bam to be the only salvagable show on MTV now, but thats just my opinion).

I'll be watching just to see whats up, like most other people. Tonight is a busy TV night for me.

That's wrong. It took Bungie half a year to fix fundamental online problems with Halo 2. This is a company that does not move quickly, and has repeatedly not confirmed what they are working on next. They said they do not plan to be at E3 this year, and for the most part they just finished up Halo 2 additional maps. I'd guess Halo 3 would come out until sometime in late 2007, maybe even 2008.

you are a retard. halo 2 and 3 were created simultaneously, meaning, at the same time, meaning that once halo 2 was completed (or shipped ), halo 3 had some significant progress. you really think bungie has no subdivisons or groups working out the maps and online problems whilst working on halo 3? it IS possible.

Halo 3 will be here 2005

Also, on February 9th (2005) Bungie is going to release Halo 3.

Also, Bungie is resetting the Xbox Live friends list. Be sure to message all of your friends telling them to keep the message so you are not deleted from their list.

Just more examples of BS "rumors" that get circulated about and gullible people fall for. My BS detector has rarely been wrong, and my dose of pessimism (dare I say realism?) is to try to balance the overwhelmingly wrong rumors that get spread. People tend to believe what they want, as far from reality as it may be.

Video game development times and costs have increased over the years. While simultaneous development is possible, it is highly unlikely given the time it has taken Bungie to address issues with their current game. Read some of the weekly updates on Bungie's site. Bungie claims they had more resources invested in development for the upcoming Halo 2 map expansion than they did for the development of the maps that shipped with the game. If H3 was in development and going to be released this year, I think a reasonable person would agree that it would make sense for that to receive more development effort. And again, if it was going to be released this year it seems to be a marketing mistake not showing it at E3.

I don't claim to know the future. I don't claim to have an inside contact. I just look at the reality of the market, analyze what I have read directly from the people who make the game, and compare that to whatever rumors are flying around these days so I can invalidate them. If you want to believe H3 will be released in 2005, prepare to be disappointed.

Not even 5 minutes into it...someone please post some screen grabs/info of things WORTHWHILE. What the hell do the Killers have to do with a videogame system? I'm so turning this off...if this is what MS has to do to sell a console, it can't be very good.

Those first 2 "rumors" were just idiot 12 year old kids that couldn't read or listen. Anyone that bothered to look at bungie.net knew those weren't true. I deleted everyone on my friends list that sent a "do not delete this message." I had as many as 10 of those from some people, idiots.

But it is entirely possible that bungie was working on 2 and 3 at the same time. They hint at it on their website in the weekly updates and on the dvd that came in the Halo 2SE. I bet we'll know for sure by June 28th, when you can buy the new maps on cd with some "special" content added.

Did it get any better? I turned it off right as soon as they said "Pimp my xbox"

This page gives some Xbox 360 details:
http://www.mtv.com/games/video_games/xbox/console.jhtml
This page has a lot of the Xbox game trailers and different stuff, but don't bother if you're on a mac. WMP 10 is needed:
http://www.mtv.com/games/video_games/xbox/index.jhtml

Having to pay extra $$$ for weapons, maps, and costumes after buying a $50-$60 game is lame. Hopefully not all game makers will try to screw their users like that.

Hey! and that article was published, hmm, maybe a couple weeks or days ago, MAX! So, you are giving me information that was given almost a year ago! Wow, you just love proving yourself wrong!

Things tend to change over time, dont they. Oh, no, wait. It was written on the bungie.net site last year, which means that its set in ****ing stone!
