Ordered my BTO dual 2.7 with the nvidia GeForce card at 8:30 AM EST on April 27. It's suppose to ship today. But I have a funny feeling it will be delayed at the last minute (ordered a 23" display and it was pushed back at the last minute last week.)

Anyone's dual 2.7 ship yet?

my custom built dual 2.3 is still stuck on 'Sent to Manufacturing'

although it says it will ship today.
ordered it April 27th as well.
strangely, my order status page shows that it was 'Replaced with New Product' even though it looks exactly the same. anyone else getting this?

I have already received the 23", AppleCare and iSight that I ordered at the same time.
I believe that the CTOs are configured in California...or so I've been told.

Hope everybody's ships soon!

I too received that same message. Called Apple and they told me it was due to the part number on the PowerMac changing. And their system automatically sent me out the change notice. Lets see if it ships today as they say.

My BTO dual 2.3 was ordered on 04/27 and was going to ship On or Before 05/04. But it has been delayed to Ship On or Before 5/11

I also got "Replaced with New Product" on my order but nothing was changed.....

Haven't received an email notification from Apple yet, but my online order status now shows a ship date of May 16? Time to call Apple in the morning and get some answers. I may be cancelling my order as I see a local retailer has a dual 2.7 in stock.

I'll buy either the nvidia 6800 or ATI X800 separately and sell the 9650 that comes with the machine.

Boy, this constant ship delay has happened to me on every mac I have purchased from Apple in the last six years. Very disappointing.

^ Ugh, sorry to hear! Delays are the worst...I've about become a "refurb only" man myself...can't beat same day shipping.

My BTO 2.3 was supposed to ship 5/4/2005 but got a note this morning saying it is shipping 5/12/2005 now.

I want to the local Apple store (SOHO) and asked if they had them in stock, which they do. The only thing I would be giving up is the 9653 which is fine, since I bought the X800 and the ability to add internal BT (they can do Airport Express).

So, I am considering just cancelling my order on Apple.com and getting it from the store.

I made the mad dash to my local Apple reseller and snapped up one of their last 6 dual 2.7's this morning. It is set up and waiting for the courier to arrive with my 23" monitor. Called Purolator and they state it should be here anytime before 5 PM. surfing the boards here to pass the time.

Might as well order the video card as well. Get that rolling at the same time.

I was kinda glad to see this thread in a way, because I just got an email today and it said my PM G5 Dual 2.7 will now ship on (or before - ha) 5/16. I ordered it the day it came out, because I was waiting a few weeks before that for the updated CPUs.

Nice to see I'm not the only one that got delayed, but hopefully they get a move on soon! I also pre-ordered Tiger on the 12th and they had a problem getting that to me on Friday, got it on Monday instead.

So it did happen to me as well and hopefully everyone gets theirs soon, I figure I'm at least lucky enough to have saved up in the first place for one, so i'll keep a'waitin...

Why'd you order Tiger? It'll come pre-installed on your PowerMac.

I actually bought a little iBook G4 in Jan. to mess around with...and that's what made me order this new PM, I loved OS X and the Mac community.

So the Tiger was just for my iBook, and I've already started to use that at least

I heard that the 10.4.1 Tiger update is coming out in Mid May...which is when we're supposed to get ours shipped, wondering if they are waiting for more stable results before sending them?

I don't think it's really the reason, but just thought i'd mention that. Also, weren't the Nvidia 6800 cards available for the older PowerMacs anyway, so they should have a supply of them lying around somewhere...

We can only guess however.

I'm in the same boat. I ordered a dual 2.3 Power Mac the day they were announced with an original ship date of 5/4. Then I got the "Replaced With New Product" message and a new ship date of 5/12.

For what it's worth, when I called Apple customer support today I was told the reason for the change was they had to switch my order to a different warehouse (Freemont instead of Sacramento).

On the plus side my 20" ACD arrived today.

i ordered on may 9, and estimated ship is 5/23... damn so long, mine is a custom built one though... it has bluetooth, modem and airport express added... don't know why it would take that long.

Ordered my 2.7 on the 6th, shipped today. Yoohoo! X800 came today too, so I'll be having some fun tomorrow. Hope ya'all get satisfaction soon.

I ordered a dual 2.7 on May 6th (Sat) and it was delivered today, May 11th. Quick delivery. Of course I ordered with no BTO but had all the parts here waiting for it to upgrade it to where I wanted it.

I ordered a dual 2.7, 400gig HD, BT and Airport on the 27th, and was told it would ship on or before 4/5.

It shipped yesterday. Checked the Order status and it says it was picked up from Ireland at 7.30 last night - but when I phoned Apple Customer Support they had an est. delivery of next Wednesday!

A week seems a long time to ship from Ireland, but it could be due to waiting for the rest of my order (20" Cinema Display, iSight, and FC Express) to merge.

Question is how long can I resist going for an x800XT to complete the package?!?

I got mine yesterday. Everything is beautiful! Things to note:

- 2x512 Apple DDR
- 400GB Hitachi drive - 372.5GB formatted
- 2.5 hours to zero the drive
- 20 minutes to do my custom/clean Tiger install
- Pioneer 109
- the 23" Cinema Display is beautiful (if only it had multiple inputs!)
- have not yet pushed the machine but am VERY impressed at how quiet it is (6800 and all)
- the P4 next to it howls compared to normal operating noise on the G5 - even when the fans spooled up a couple of times, the db level comes "close" to the normal P4 level)
- it has been worth the wait (for me)!

Even better, UPS just delivered my Crucial order - will be installing another GB tonight!
