I've lurked on macnn for a very long time, and just came on to see the redesign. very nice work from the team. I have seen so many other sites choke on this sort of transition and from what i can tell, we took a big step forward while keeping the goodness intact.

this section is cool for each apple product: http://forums.macnn.com/products/apple-iphone-4s-verizon-32gb-black-md278ll-a#wiki

I'll try to get some reviews going ASAP

It has a NewsFactor 2.0 feel to it.

Slick shoes?! Are you crazy?!

This new design is terrible. The whoooooooole page stretches with your browser window. This causes multiple usability problems, including reading text and having to reply in a huuuuuuuuuge window.

Second, I have yet to find a mobile version of the forums. As it is, it's unusable on the iPhone and rough on the iPad.

Go into your profile and click Edit Account Details. Down toward the bottom, make sure Constrain Threads to Constant Width and Hide right column in forum threads are both checked. This will improve your viewing experience.

We are told that "it's a priority".

Seems to have improved things.

Another problem: you have to touch twice to get into a thread when touching last post in the main threads view.

Also, the WebKit Editor's main toolbar is ugly as hell. Pixelated hit areas too big.

I can't believe anyone actually likes the changes. The whole site looks worse than it did.

Things I like about the new site:

The edit button has some separation from the quote buttons.
Links aren't listed as read until I read them.
First sentence of last post on the forum pages.
Indication if someone else is reading a thread.
The page views algorithm seems like it's more accurate.

There may be a few more things which come to me, but those are the top ones.
