MacBook with original MacOS 10.4.6 CD, and an external FW drive that already contains files which are not in the "normal" MacOS directories.

QUESTION:
Could the non-MacOS data on the FW drive be the reason 10.4 can't be installed on the disk?

Found the answer at:
"You cannot install Mac OS X on this volume..." alert in Installer
