Which services are you looking for?

Gmail + Xmarks + Dropbox covers a number of them.

*sigh*

I'd gladly continue to pay for MobileMe if Apple made it less sucky.

And, as the usual - equally off-topic and irrelevant - counterpoint, this is where I chime in and say that I'm quite happy with the service.

Nassifer, are you looking for feature-by-feature replacement or just cherry-picking certain ones?

I have a mobileme account but use dropbox not idisk, for example.

There's no single free alternative to MobileMe. If you need all of the features in one convenient location, then MobileMe is your best bet, even though, as pointed out by Turtle and IMHO, Apple could do to charge less for it or make it better.

In what respect ?

I'm ok with the feature set for the price.

However, all the syncing (bookmarks, addresses) is still quite wonky.
E.g., my bookmarks last synced yesterday at noon. I have made changes since, but MobileMe doesn't "pick it up" and automatically re-syncs (it is set to "automatic"). WTF ?

Address syncing also is wonky. Every now and then it say that 50% of my addresses have changed, where nothing really did change. I'm always scared that it will nuke all my addresses.

Bookmark syncing with my iPhone is instantaneous, as is contact sync (the latter is usually done in under a minute).

Calendars, I had the situation for the first time last week where I could've *sworn* I'd made changes, but the iPhone didn't have them. Haven't done any testing, though, so I don't know whether I just intended to make changes but forgot to make them, or whatever. Will be watching this closely.

iDisk has been working swell for me, Find my iPhone works, and MobileMe mail had one brief hiccup sometime last year where I suspect that I ended up on a spam blacklist somewhere (not the first time; some moron with an infected machine has had me in their address book for a while).

Try opening up iSync and resetting Sync logs from within its preferences. Sounds like something is wrong with your database.
