Jerry Seinfeld helps Stewart with comedy regression therapy over that a-hole Marcus Bachmann, Michelle Bachman's husband, apparently calling gays barbarians:

Comedy Repression Therapy - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 07/13/11 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

Who is going to be able to top the craziness of the Bachmann couple? I think this is even out of Sarah Palin's league...

Ewww... No, Michelle Bachmann looks stupid.

Do you get a hard on every time you remind us that politicians are corrupt and we're bankrupt and stuff?

So, you like praying to Jewish God and you're into Republican stuff, I'm into the Daily Show, jazz, Unix system administration, the Care Bears, the sounds effect guy from the Police Academy movies, and other things. No big deal...

Now the third string, defending an obvious loon.
Why they would want to lower themselves to the stupendous one's flagellation is hard to understand.
Let him do it for God's sake.

Well, they aren't defending him... Yet.

I'm not going to do the "you implicitly support this guy because you don't condemn him" thing, cause that's just annoying.

Besides, Big Mac is not into regular God, he's into Jewish God.

No, you're confusing him with someone else.

Maybe it's time to get our the Crazyometer again. You would think Marcus Bachmann would rate high, but he loses points off for lack of creativity. I'd say he measures .57 Bachmanns.

(When it comes to crazy, Michele wears the pants in that family....)

F*cking strawman.

Who are those ultraconservatives here that think Bachman & Co are "bombastic" ?
Who here "idolize" Bachman ?

Stop projecting.

I think you're confused. "Bombastic" is not a compliment.

The fact that a crazy woman like Bachmann could even be elected to public office is worrying, but being the current frontrunner is terrifying. The conservative movement in the US is fncking broken when someone like that is so popular.

I don't know who you are preaching to.

I and many other conservatives here have never said that Bachman would be a viable choice.

When you and Big Mac tried to derail the thread immediately, that's the "squirming" I was talking about. If you say you don't like her, fine I believe you, but why squirm and derail a perfectly appropriate thread about someone you don't even like?

Bachmann is co-owner of a clinic that sells snake-oil to vulnerable people, then lies about it to the public, and then lies some more when the truth comes out. That is a valid issue to discuss, particularly when she is leading the race for GOP presidential candidate.

Given how many religious wingnuts like Bachmann have power and influence in the US, the

I don't think it was right of them to make fun of his voice or how he dances. Having a lisp doesn't make you gay. Dancing like a doofus doesn't make you gay.

Now, I do see where they are coming from, the guy clearly sounds like a stereotypical gay man, but still, sounding like a stereotypical gay man does not make you gay... and saying so on national TV seems like a backhanded tactic.

Attack him for his crap clinic and crap ideas. Not for sounding gay.

If you find out he is gay, then go after him for being a hypocrite, but until then, attack his ideas.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

I know the turtle can't see this, being on his ignore list and all, but trying the Obama gambit like another stupendous one does is idiocy.

And then try to minimize a poster because of where he's posting from and doesn't agree with.

Hell, why doesn't he just ignore everyone that isn't a born and bred god fearing American.

The full segment started with michelle leading in Iowa and her position on gays being a big factor.
Then on to her husband and the barbarian line.
Comedy gold handed to Stewart and you think it wasn't right?
If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck and quacks off like a duck, you're fair game.

No, I saw the whole show. I guess I just don't think it's fair to draw the conclusion that he's gay based on how he talks or a 10 second clip of him dancing.

I think it's insulting to gay people more than anything. It's time to leave the stereotypes behind and move on.

Assuming someone's sexual orientation based on how they talk is somewhat barbaric. If the man says he's straight and he's married, then you take him at his word. If some sort of proof comes out that he's gay, then fine, go to town on his hypocrisy... but just because he displays some gay stereotypes doesn't make it fair to jump to that conclusion, no matter how "gay" he sounds (pretty damn gay) or how horrible his ideas are (pretty damn horrible).

As a comedy bit, I admit that I found it funny... but something about it still rubbed me the wrong way.

So, if I "observe" that you have hard ons for illumination of political corruption or that we are broke this won't constitute as trolling?

Just want to make sure I understand the Turtle-verse...

Why people would be noticing my hard ons in the first place is a little bit creepy, I don't go around looking to see who has erections normally.

I saw the bit last night. (I don't watch the show on a daily basis anymore.) I thought it had potential: Stewart was trying to suppress his natural tendency to mock people who look stereotypically gay, and Seinfeld was playing the counselor who tries to circumvent his natural tendencies, just as Bachmann's husband was rumored to counsel people to "pray the gay away".

The only issue is that Mr. Bachmann was never really acting all that stereotypically gay to begin with. It was a bit of a stretch.

but something about it still rubbed me the wrong way.
Naw, too easy.

Sorry, that's the most fabulous wave I've ever seen.

BTW, can Michelle Bachmann move her eyebrows, or are they botox'd into paralysis? I've seen a few videos of her, and the entire upper half of her head is frozen in time.

Video of two uber-liberals discussing Bachmann, including the (previously unknown to me) fact that she's actually a savvy politican, until Sarah Palin.

And here's Taibbi's Rolling Stone piece on why she shouldn't be underestimated.

(BTW, if that picture of that wave was in Jon Stewart's piece, it would have worked much better. )

True, but it's almost become a sign of closet homosexuality to be a prominent conservative outspoken against homosexuality.

This is the second time I can recall besson posting a Daily Show video, and the second time I was caught off-guard by the lack of funny.

Besson, how do you manage to find the most unfunny clips of a show I find humorous on a regular basis?

And as someone else noted, the entire premise wasn't even funny or poignant.

Oh, for Fox Sake - Stewart Eviscerates Stewart - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 06/28/11 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

Yes, it's cheating, as it's a highlight reel with no real crucial matter at it's heart (Though, did Fox News really go network wide on slamming Stewart? What a compliment!), but it's all I can recall from the past few weeks.

The bit worked better in the full skit. I think the gay jokes were supposed to be lame, the kind of low joke he should be avoiding in his "therapy."

It was worth it just for Seinfeld slapping him, I think.

Is this a good time to b!tch about the licensing arraignment between Comedy Central and Canada's Comedy Network?

Almost every damn link to Comedy Central is useless to me because they won't let Canadians watch their web video content, because Canadians are expected to go to the Comedy Network to see it. It's fncking infuriating.
