I haven't seen anyone else complaining about this, so I assume there's something in my setup that's weird.
10.2
Quicktime 6.2
Safari .8
Every time I try a quicktime anything in safari, it crashes immediately. This includes stuff from Apple's Quicktime site.
Can anyone give me an idea what to look for, change?
Thanks

are you running 10.2.0? Definitely upgrade to 10.2.3, or 10.2.5. What is safari 0.8??

Actually I'm running 10.2.5. Safari 1 .8 beta is the latest public beta.
This problem also occured with the previous safari public beta and QuickTime 6.1. For this reason I believe there is something in my setup on my machine that's screwed up. Not Safari or QuixkTime.

I think you just need to run Auto-Update for your system and your Quicktime one... your stuff is getting out of date.

Just see if it helps. Also, always good to try to repair permissions.

Actually, I have also experienced the same problem and I filed a bug report with Apple. And I guarantee you that my software is up to date.

I'm using the latest download from Apple, Safari 1.0 Beta 2 (v73) with Quicktime 6.2.2 with absolutely no problems.

Try deleting the Safari preference files.

I finally solved this problem by throwing away the QuickTime Plugin.plugin from the ~/Library/Internet Plugins folder and installing a new copy.

I'm having the same problem with a fresh install of 10.2.4 and QT6.2.2. The above trick didn't work for me. It seems insane that Apple's Browser and media technology would work so poorly together... any other fix ideas?

Arrgh! Now the only Web browser that will launch is Safari! IE, OW, Phoenix, Camino all quit as they are launched! Is it my hardware?
