That's totally different from person to person. Some get one WT out and can't eat for a week.
I got all four removed in one session and was good after about 3-4 days.

Start with liquid stuff. Maybe avoid juices with lots of acid.
You should be ok to have soups soon.

I was chowing down on spaghetti and meatballs a few hours later—albeit in tiny bites.

I don't remember when I started eating after my surgery that took my wisdom teeth and a pair of molars. (It was 15 years or so ago.)

What I do remember is that I hated the period between the pain meds working and the pain actually being there. The numbness and tingling. It literally made me want to . I'd have rather had the pain.

And with my mouth swollen like a chipmunk and packed with cotton, my friends drug me to a school basketball game (we never missed events.) Of course, we sat in our usual seats, right near the band, with me right next to the drum section.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

Can't say that felt too good. But the cheerleaders were cute, so there are tradeoffs.

Next day after mine (all 4 removed at once), I seem to remember. And then a couple days later I got an infection and couldn't physically open my mouth so was on liquids for a week. Mucho fun.

I had mine out one afternoon, and the next day at lunch I was able to eat solid foods. This was primarily because there was a hurricane coming and they wanted to get everybody on the air base I was stationed on fed before they had to shut everything down. Advice: the best way to go through a hurricane in a shelter is to be dopped up on darvocet. I slept through the whole thing. I was groggy the next day, but I didn't really hurt any more.

In seriousness, as was noted above, everyone is different. Don't start eating until your doctor/dentist said you should because as Doofy found out, you may get into trouble.

Half of my mom's face was paralyzed for weeks after she got hers out. Made me not so eager to get it done.

So yeah, it varies a lot from one case to another.

chance are your teeth will be ****ed up by the time you are 55 unless they are "straight" and not pushing against any normal molars.

Yep. If they need to go, they need to go.
I have a majorly high pain threshold (i.e. you can punch me in the face as hard as you like and I'll laugh at you) which made me not notice the wisdom teeth growing in (no pain, no problem). This pushed the lower teeth forwards, making them crooked and susceptible to cavities. I'm nowhere near 55 yet I'm at the dentist every three months for structural work just to keep everything together. I'm seriously contemplating having them all ripped out and some screw-in implants popped in there.
All this because the wisdoms weren't caught soon enough. Be warned.

Yep, better remove them than leave the wound to fester.
