I am having a bit of trouble with OSX 10.3.9 and networking with Windows XP. The Mac used to show up in My Network Places but it no longer does this; however I can still connect fine to the XP PC if I manually enter its SMB address. The PC's workgroup is called, fascinatingly, 'workgroup' - I dont know how to set this on the Mac and perhaps theyre different?

Any ideas?

to change a macs network name go to Directory access (Applications/Utilities) and click on SMB and click configure.

So the network name is correct. What else could be preventing the Mac from showing up on the PC? (It also doesnt show up on my Windows laptop)
