My plan is to buy a PB 15" ALU sometime not long after the Mac Conference event... I am wondering about hooking up external speakers to the PB... I saw a real slick Harmon Kardon clear speaker system that works off of a USB port, so I guess that would work more than OK... I have a relatively nice Altec Lansing ADA 880 Dolby Digital speaker system that I purchased in 1999 with my current Dell PC... it has a S/PDIF digital input port that currently connects to a DVD hardware decoder card on the Dell... it also has a normal, analog input that can be hooked up to normal audio out on a basic PC sound card... I read that the PowerMac G5s have some sort of digital sound output... is there any way to hook the Altec Lansing 880s up to a PB 15" ALU?
thanks in advance,
BrewSkij

actually, i have a very nice klipsch sound system, and if you get a y-splitter you can put both into the Y, and put it directly into powerbook,, sounds great!

My USB HK Soundsticks sounded OK ...
But, to my ear at least, both my Monsoon MM-700 and MM-1000 systems sound fabulous! The Monsoons connect to the headphone-out (mini stereo) jack.
The little Monsoons sit right in front of my huge Magnaplanars ... which I seldom use anymore ... actually my entire stereo system (complete with 200 disc CD changer) is seldom used
