I prefer to microwave them.
10-15 seconds is enough.
For best effect, darken room.

Really... I just throw mine in there for two seconds... It usually stinks up the place pretty good if you do it any longer.

That's old news. Always a great video, though.
I thought this thread was going to be about the TechTV segment I saw the other day about devices they sell to destroy CDs. There were shredders, grinders, and, of course, the regular ol' microwave. I've never nuked a CD; I'll have to try it.

That is a fun time. I used to do that with my battery powered one in the apartment its awesome. Whats not awesome is going to work at getting the ind. stregth dremel! We did it in the parking lot outside and the ****er went SOOOO. Whats not fun is that if the thing starts to wobble and you try and knock it off large chunks go everywhere. If you were to get hit in the arm or something you would be defintaly going to the hospital. luckly we wore eye protection while we made my sister do it 30 feet away!
