I don't understand... help!

I export my FCP files as contained Quicktime movies using current sequence settings (640 x 480, 30fps, yada yada.)

I drag the exports to Cleaner and apply a custom mpeg 1(or)2 setting, using the following settings:

640x480
30fps
1500kbps
4:3
crop aspect ratio: same as display
(I've tried various other file formats, etc.)

My output from Cleaner always ends up as a squashed 580x480 mpeg, I can't work out why?

I'd love to be using compressor right now, but am stuck with an old version of FCP HD and compressor 2, which makes mpeg generation very long-winded.

Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance!

I don't know why that's happening, but why are you using Cleaner? Are you using its filters, or just making mpeg's any way you can? Because ffmpeg is free, and it probably won't suffer from the same problem.

Yep a few filters and such like, I've worked it out... my pixel shape was being changed.. yawn!

Compressor is my app of choice, but sometimes I need to use Cleaner, I'm not a fan of ffmpeg, but didn't spend too much time with it, it kept erroring?!?
