Hi all,

I just made the big purchase.... finally switched over to mac, and waiting for my macbook to arrive any day now. I got the new 2.0ghz macbook that comes with 1 gb ram... my question is:

What's the real performance difference between 1gb and 2gb of ram? Is it noticeable, and is it worth it to upgrade? I use my computer for most of the day, but would not consider myself someone who does graphic design or whatnot. I use it for basic purposes -- i.e. schoolwork, internet, iTunes, downloading, etc.

Would it be a good idea to upgrade to 2gb ram? Thanks!

I wouldn't waste your money if your not doing anything else bar iTunes/internet etc. you most probably wont benefit from more ram!

If your going to use memory hungry apps such as Photoshop get 2gb

If you plan on running Parallels, definitely get 2 GB.
