Got a 2G bought new in Dec. 07. Anyone besides me experiencing
what seems to be extremely sensitive touch screen. While talking on phone
it just seems I barely have to brush phone against cheek and acitvate
a mute, hold, or sometime end call command. Don't recall it being so
sensitive for first few months after initial activation. Just curious if anyone
had similar experience.

Hmm. The screen should turn off when the phone is in use near your face. It seems like perhaps one of Apple's thousands of whatever-meters (the name eludes me right now) has stopped working.

thanks for the reply....maybe an issue that the warranty still in effect may
cover....always a coin toss if I take it local apple store that a "genius"
will be able to fully understand and address issue. Anyone else have this
issue occuring?

found out what the problem was.....the rubber case I had around the phone was
blocking the sensor at the top of the iPhone and therefore not letting the
keypad deactivate. Beware to all who use protective covers on the face of the
iPhone that the particular brand you buy doesn't obstruct sensor. Foolish it
took me awhile to figure this one out. Of course it was the tip I received here
that led me on the trail to correcting the issue. Thanks!
