Hi,
can anyone give me more details what's going on here?
Yesterday I tried for the very first time to start a video conference with 3 people in Facetime (all in OS X - not iOS!)...and couldn't find out how to add the 3rd person and start this!!
After googling a little bit I kind of found out that this is not possible with Facetime!? Right??
I am really surprised now because I clearly remember that this feature was presented in one of the Apple keynotes some years ago when I saw Facetime for the very first time!
What happened to this and why doesn't it work?

Huh. That's strange, I do this in Messages all the time and in iChat before.
FaceTime itself is one on one, but through Messages, you should be fine.

Oh, this should work in Messages but not Facetime? Thanks for the hint - I'll try that next time!

Badidea, FaceTime has never been anything but one-on-one for video (or now audio) calling. You're thinking back to when iChat was introduced, it could do three-way video conferencing. I've never tried multi-party video chatting in Messages, will have to give that a try sometime.

But it's still completely stupid and unintuitive for Apple to NOT allow three-way Facetimes, when it's clearly technically possible.
Most likely, behind the scenes, the code is basically the same anyways.

Oh yes, I guess you're right, I mixed it with iChat!
So iChat is now Messages, right? And it still does video chat? Why do we have Facetime then?
I am getting too old for this modern computer stuff...
