Hey,

I am updating and cleaning up a friend's iBook G3 300MHz.

When I first tried to connect via the internal modem, there was much crackling, then a dial tone, then dialing noise, but no connect (the dial-tone was still humming.)

Then I updated Firmware to 2.4 and OS to 9.0.4.

Now the modem is not even recognized (no sign of it in the System Profiler, and no response otherwise.)

I have tried to apply 2.0 Modem Firmware Updater, but again, no response.

So, what else can I do to determine the status of this modem, and, if I were to replace the modem, where would I find a replacement for sale (and instuctions on how to do it)?

Thanks.
