i got a new Maxtor hard drive (diamondmax plus 9) 120GB for christmas. it didnt come with any cd or anything, just the drive.

i took out my old 20GB (master) and put the new one in with the jumpers also set to master. im running OSX but i start up from an OS9 cd cause thats what i have. anyway, system profiler recognizes the new drive but it doesnt show up on the desktop. what do i have to do to make it work?

is there something i can download to swipe/initialize the new drive? or...what? thanks a bunch.

open disk utility in the utilities folder and setup the drive as you like.
