Just a quick question. I'm trying to download this Gnutella software called limewire for OS X.

The file is limewiresomething.sh

I can't get this to open after download - can't unstuff, can't open with any program. Anyone has any idea what the .sh means?

any help is appreciated. ps i'm able to run this in OS 9

I've posted these instructions here several times before. No offense, but please utilize the Search feature of the forums if you ever have a simple question you suspect may have been answered before.

Here are step-by-step terminal instructions from the time you download it (assuming you have it on the desktop):

* enter "cd ~/Desktop/"
* enter "sh LimeWireMacOSX.sh"
(an installer program will run in Java)
* when done installing, "cd" to the directory you installed it in (I put mine in "/Applications/LimeWire")
* enter "java LimeWire" OR "./LimeWire"

That's it.
