Am I losing my mind, or is the Networking Forum missing?

I could of swore there was a Networking Forum too, but maybe I am too tired.

I need to buy a AirPort Card, do I buy M7600LL/C or M7600LL/D?

Why does Amazon have a $50 price differance between the two cards?

The latest one as far as far as I know is the /D version. I ordered it from Amazon a couple days ago when it started showing up as $49... I'm supposed to get it Monday or Tuesday next week. I'm surprised that they haven't changed the price yet.

The latest one is the /D modell.

AFAIK

the older airport cards (/C) where shipped with 40 bit WEP encryption for the graphite Base Station.
The newer cards (/D) are ready for 128 bit WEP, which works only with the snow Base Station.

Here comes the kick: the /C models can be upgraded by the new Airport software and will work like /D models. The /D models are already 128 bit WEP when being shipped.

So, you can use EITEHR card with either Base Station. The only thing that doesn't work is 128 bit WEP (/D or upgraded /C) with a graphite Base Station, since the Base Station can NOT be upgraded to 128 bit WEP.

Please, anyone, correct me if this is wrong.

Damn. It doesn't show up anymore.

That would have been a gold mine, buying for 50$, and re-selling in Europe for 120$ (new 150 EUR).
