Any mldonkey users out there? Well, it doesn't work with Jag. It downloads for a while and then quits with a bus error.

Anyone want to compile it for Jag and help the rest of us out?

Hi!
It's not much of a help to you, but I can confirm that this happens.

Yeah, it seems to be a clear bug as there are several reports on the cocodonkey web site as well. Hopefully, it will just require a re-compile with the Jag dev tools or some minor modifications. It seems to run okay for a while before crashing.

From time to time? Using the standard version I get crashes every 5-10 minutes. Is "from time to time" less frequent than that?

Anyone heard about a solution in the near future? I'm sure once 10.2 is officially released we will get many more people interestes in a solution.

Where can I get this recompiled version?

Ore have you recompiled it your self?
If so, how do I recompile a version?

A friend of mine recompiled it. Anyway it still crash very often.
You can compile your own version. Just get the source code from
cvs. But... I would advise you to wait for a while... so that they fix
the current issues with Jaguar.

We have a first solution already:

Warning: You can't use cocodonkey with it.

Someone re-compiled mldonkey, he says it works fine, I'll tell you more in some hours or tomorrow.

He took the latest CVS build, it's not the one we have all been using past months, that's why cocodonkey doesn't work with it. We'll have to use the web-based GUI...

The page is in french: hint "tlcharger" means "download"
http://www.macosxtech.com/news/?date=20020815

Enjoy.

It works great.

And the fact that it came so fast is good news.

Uh, i don't have 10.2, but I do have mldonkey, and I know how to use it pretty well. I'm really confused as to why you people use the crappy Cocodonkey client? Just use the gui that came with mldonkey, it's much better than cocodonkey, and definetly better than the browser alternative. You need XDarwin and fink of course though.

Here's another tip, if you have fink and XDarwin and the whole crew, add the cvs tree to your fink tree thingy (um... just goto fink.sourceforge.net and they have a tutorial on getting the unstable tree), then, update to the new Fink distribution which fixes bugs with 10.2.

These, combined with this new mldonkey release, and you should be riding that jackass in no time

Sounds good, but need some instructions

Is XDarwin and fink simple to use, or do I need to be a terminal expert?

Always love to ride those jackasses

Uh, yeah, i'd say you'd have to be pretty *nix savvy to use XDarwin and fink, so that tip was for people who have used different flavors of *nix.

So, itistoday, have U got 10.2 now?

Does your XDarwin and fink tip work with Jaguar?

Anybody got any solutions to this problem?
I have tried the tip were U make mlDonkey restart when the buss error kills it.
It doesn't help.

What to do... what to do...

Read this on a other forum:

"I have a partition drive and one has 10.2 (c106) and the other has 10.2 (c115). Mldonkey will work quite smoothly in c106 but if I try to use it in c115 it will have the bus errors in about 5 whole minutes.

Is anyone else using c106 and not having issues with it?"

Could the buss error go away when we get the 10.2.1 update?
