Hi,

i made a mockup for a Chimera splash-screen, do you think it is possible with OS X's transparency stuff and alpha channels?

Do you know where the PS7 splash screen is located in the PS7 package?

Possible, but not just by simply dropping in a transparent image. The program would have to be written to make the window itself transparent, and then draw the opaque stuff over it.

This is not terribly difficult, with Quartz and all, but it does have to be done in code. That said, it's a very good splash screen, and you may want to speak with the Chimera developers about it. I know I like it better than the current one; they might as well.

Or just download the code and do it yourself.

The problem with your splash screen is that it looks like Apple's Volume, eject and brightness screens which is confusing for the user.
