my drive (internal hd) icon isnt letting me change its name, i click once on it, and dosnt let me change the name, also i get info on it to do it manually and dosnt let me. Also noticed that show info is only showing the size of the drive, ex. 74.4 gb, when it's supposed to show how many is used, free, etc. Thx, for your help.

mmm no, the only thing i do is access my files on my pc, but i dont have any files sharing on my mac.

You can only change the name of your hard drive from an admin account.

well...
check the file sharing settings in system prefs;
try disconnecting from the internet (or any network)
try repairing permissions (from disk utility)

Check the permission, when you open the drive, it not writable, indicated in the low left side of the finder window?

solved, tho i am admin, somehow it was in read only, good to have brother playin with macosx lol .
