Apple is planning an imminent refresh of the Mac mini, possibly as soon as October, a source claims. It's unknown what changes the computer
might have, but the Mini line has gone without a major update since 2012. Even the long-neglected Mac Pro received a redesign in late 2013, making the Mini the only Mac line that hasn't been upgraded in over a year.
An October launch may make sense, in that Apple is expected to ship OS X Yosemite then. A possible knock against the rumor, though, is that is that next-generation Intel Broadwell processors aren't due to ship until early 2015, and current Haswell chips are showing their age. Since the Mini has languished and isn't meant to be a high-end system, though, any recent chip may be sufficient.
