Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield ($20) plus the add on Athena Sword ($20). That'll give you about 20 "great" maps plus there are a lot of 3rd party maps as well.

Has some great multiplayer options for team vs team play and team vs AI also.

Halo. Even as old as it is, it's still great.

i have fun playing quake 3...

i can't run any of the newer games, but i'm sure UT is probably the best.

halo was good, only back when bungie first showed it off for mac...then m$ bought bungie and it turned to crap.

RTCW ET is fun, and free
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

Halo is great fun on a lan, especially since you can play with pcs as long as you get the versions right.

Raven Shield (though I won't buy it, because it can't play with PCs; so I bought it for my PC instead), and the original UT.

OMG!

The blasphemy! Those games are all great, but if you're looking for quick, fun action with some tactical smarts, look no further than Call of Duty, with the United Offensive pack. As Mafia mentioned.

Way too much fun!

CoD is great, and definitely better than MoH.

Halo is garbage.

this may not fully be considered a fps, but it's close enough. jedi knight: jedi academy is extremely fun. it's based off the quake 3 engine, which i love, and there is a lot of depth in the gameplay. it may not seem like it at first but there are a lot of moves and saber combos you can do that take a lot of practice to pull off effectively.

i mainly just play in 1 on 1 duel games. just saber dueling; no force powers other than jump.

not all who wander are lost.

it was going to be an expansion pack, but the company decided to release it to the community as a freebie, and what a freebie!

Ok, but what's got the best community? The only FPS I have on my Mac is UT03 and all the servers run custom mods that aren't much fun and have mostly bots playing anyway.

I would kill for something on par with CS on the Mac, but we all know that's a tall order.

Plus, I'm limited because my trusty Mac is a little short on horsepower these days. I could *technically* run UT04, but I assumed the community would spiral down just like UT03. Is it worth getting?

UT2004 and then you can get mods (for free) like "Tactical Ops" and "Frag Ops". That is the best way to go... it's really 3 games in one....

P.S. I also support AA (America's Army) me and my friends play it ALL the time! (We have a clan, if you see anyone with {PHOTON} before their name they're one of us... I'm {PHOTON}Flip50. See you there.

WolfET has a great community, and there are plenty of 'mods of mods' for it.
UT2k4 is a must have for any FPS Lover, If only for the extra mods (Alien Swarm & Neotokyo...)
