Hey guys just wanting to get some input here. I have two old iBook laptops either G3 or G4 and I wanted to get one working for my mother to use. Tried installing Yellowdog Linux on one of them due to a issue with Mac cd's not booting and it installs but no video just cli. Anyone ever have any issues with video on these older laptops?

I don't know why you would want to have your mother fool with Linux on a G3 or G4. Panther or Tiger will give her the best possible experience on that class of hardware.

The G3s are notorious for vide failure but then you wouldn't be getting CLI.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Seriously, just put Panther or Tiger on it and call it good.
