Where's the "no, I'm broke" option?

Yep, but I'll have to see them in real life before choosing the color. The idea of a black one sounds cool but the pictures aren't enough to decide.

The other problem that I have (besides the € factor) is that I will need to get me a USB2 PC card for my PowerBook...I hope that such a thing exists.

I'll probably buy the black 4gb, show it off to the friends, play with it for a few weeks or months, test it out in the car, then sell it for a little lower than the original price after finding out I need some cash or after I get bored and don't have a use for it.

Same went for the 1st gen and 3rd gen iPods I've owned in the past.

Yes. One of each of the 4Gb models. Couldn't leave out the significant other.

I'll let her choose but I hope I get the black one.

If it had Firewire transfer and digital camera connectivity, I'd buy one this week. But it doesn't, so I won't.

I'm getting two. One for me and one for my sis to replace her original Ipod. Prob is she is using my old cube and it only has firewire and USB 2.0. It is going to be hard explain to her that it will transfer slower than her old one.

Does it still charge over USB 1.0?

I'll be getting a 2GB White Nano to be a little brother to my iPod Mini 6GB, but I won't be getting it for a bit. I'm broke.

You could be a bit sneaky and see if she notices the difference in speed.

I'm sure she'd forgive her brother for getting her the latest gadget anyway.

It should charge over USB 1 as I'd imagine alot of people still have those ports. The spec seems to say USB2 is recommended rather than required.

Yeah, but the nano is just a slightly larger, slightly more expensive, superior version of the shuffle. I guess I'm not much of a shuffle guy.

Nah, I'll hold off until they up the capacity. Right now, I just don't see it as a significant enough upgrade over my 4 GB mini. Yeah its super-thin, but other than that I'm not compelled at this time. Then again, I said the same about the mini when it came out, and it took me about three days to change my mind.

One of each 4GB model. Ordered a white one online, picked up the black one in the store today. One will go to my wife, the other will stay with me. I *think* she's going to claim the black, but she technically doesn't know I own it yet.

If I never post again, it's probably homicide.

Well, I bought a 4GB white nano. I'm gonna play with it until X-Mas then give it to my sister for her X-Mas present. She still has her clunky Archos multimedia jukebox that she never uses anymore.

I'll be playing with the nano for a while but eventually return back to my iPod photo 20GB. I'm holding out for an 8GB version which will not be coming anytime soon unless Steve Jobs pulls a rabbit out of his @$$ and grants me my wish.

The color choice was a tough one.

I have a white iPod Shuffle and a black iPod U2 Edition.

In the end, I decided to go with the white one.

Setting it up now......

Both Apple Stores near me had dozens in stock today.

Saw them at the Boca Raton Apple Store today. I have a 1 GB shuffle for working outside & my wife has a mini, so we're not in the market right now... but I'm secretly hoping one of our pods will suffer a mysterious accident

God, but they are cool little gizmos, aren't they...

Me, I voted "no." I don't have $200 to blow on something I have little to no use for simply because it is an attractive piece of engineering. If it had a base that snapped off to make it an easy flashdrive substitute, maybe I'd be more tempted, since I actually use flashdrives.

But since the last time I actually wanted to listen to music while moving around was...um, 9th grade, I don't need an iPod.

OR, if they made a waterproof one that I could wear while swimming! That I'd buy...

I now have two iPods (with one on the way). 4GB is only big enough for a subset of my 20+GB music collection, so my favorites and new music are loaded on the 4GB. The 1GB Shuffle is devoted to audiobooks and podcasts. And the one on it's way is the other 4GB - that'll either be sold or go to my wife if she wants it. (Or I'll keep it if it ends up looking cooler than the black, hehe)

Apple only recommends USB 2.0 so it should charge and sync fine with USB 1.1 on your Cube.

I have a 20GB iPod Photo and the nano is on the way.

I'm using my full-sized iPod to load up complete albums that I want to listen/explore. I have the main menu set to show "Artists" and "Albums".

Then I'm gonna use the nano to load up single songs. This keeps the artist and album menu on the full-sized iPod more tidy since I won't have to wade through hundreds of artists where I only want 1 or 2 songs. The main menu will have "Songs".

My original 1st generation 5GB iPod has my "Acoustic Songs" playlist when I want to go "unplugged."
