well I hope so!...
After I has the LB changed 2 times (the 3rd is not working optimal at all!) a dead HD and a dead Power supply,...
Anyone had the experience?
I would like to know how MUCH is the difference between the 2 machines (for Unreal for example! ;o)

I'd say very noticable. The computer your getting is just the same as my PB except for the audio in and monitor spanning. The GPU in your computer is way better and I wouldn't be surprised in a huge jump for gaming.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

hummm, the Video is "almost" the same...
OK got a G4, will give it an extra gig of ram (instead of the 512 I gave to my G3) but it wont be a G5! ;o)
BTW how reliable are those G5s? I need one soon, but after ALL the hardware bugs I had... I start to doubt!..

Hi all again,

just to tell you that I have finally revieved a new iBook G4 today.
No smily face anyway as it obviously have a backlight problem (but no dead pixel).
The screan is really dark and has some "rays" of light coming from the bottom (from the light source I suppose)...
Anone had this problem?
I will search the forum but I ll appreciate your remarks.

(I know I have a sh'tty spelling, but I am French and in a run to go home to try the new machine anyway! )

The G5s are fine. All problems seem to have been ironed out.

I have had mine on for 24 hours a day since I bought in March. No problems to report... There are lots of people who have had the same fault free experience as me.

Bloody fast too...

thanks Placid,

I have to say that this new iBook G4 is a rocket compare to the G3 800.
The RAM is only have 256 now and I had 640 on the G3, but it is indeed faster with a G4 on board! I will give it an extra gig of RAM and it will rock for a while!
Next step, G5 revB... dual 3GIG?

now, I need to find some new customers to pay all this!...

I just hope that the G4 iBooks won't have such problems in the near future since I don't have the money to buy the applecare.
