It used to be 'little Al' and 'Big Al.' I suppose, we can use 'revA' vs 'revB' to distinguish these models.

But what should we call the new 15" Al PBs?

Maybe it's boring, but I put my vote towards "AlBook 15." It gets the point across.

quintus decimus Roman numerals for XV or 15th whereas quindecim is for 15. But I think quintus decimus sounds better. It could be something like:

[My Version:] My name is Quintus Decimus. Commander of the armies of the PowerBook, general of the Laptop Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor Marcus Macintosh, father to a Titanium son, husband to an iBook wife, and I will have my vengence in this life for OS X.

[Original Quote:] My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius. Commander of the armies of the North, general of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor Marcus Aurelius, father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife, and I will have my vengeance in this life or the next.

Sorry, just too tempting. I love Gladiator.

Wicked.

quintus decimus

brilliant

but "I will have my vengence in this life for OS X", shouldn't that be something like "I will have my vengence in this life for OS 9", or perhaps "I will have my vengence in this life for OS X 10.0" (ie, the not quite ready for prime time version of OS X?)

Hmm, but Gladiator is amazing, one of the best movies of all time, and by far the best soundtrack I have ever heard (IMO).

Oh, and I know what I am naming my "quintus decimus"

I think we should do like Apple and start using roman numerals:

PB XII
PB XV
PBXVII

Or use a shortening of the above:

PB2
PB5
PB7

The symbol for Aluminium is AL

AU stands for Gold
and
AG stands for Sliver

Why not call it PB13 after the atomic number for aluminium.

There's got to be a fun name for the new model, but it might take awhile for the user experiences to suggest one.

For example, the 12" is the firebook, so the new model could be either "firebook, 2nd gen", or possibly "son of firebook" if the new model still cranks up the heat.

The 17" is the lapzilla, with the new model following the same naming convention as above.

You all got it wrong.

It's an Alu Gobi. I saw it on the menu at the local Indian restaurant.

PB = Lead ... so is that a funky isotope (PB13)? is it radioactive?

(i'll probably get some chem jock telling me how there can't be a PB13 isotope ... molecular orbital diagram anyone?)
