Just curious if anyone else has noticed that MacNN pegs your processor. Both Menumeters and iPulse show an enormous peak when I'm viewing the front page. I don't suppose it really matters. I mean, I'm still going to read the news half a dozon times a day, but something's not quite right I think.

same happens to me but only when there is an ad on screen. scroll down so the 3D flash ad with sound and crap can't be seen and the processor usage goes way down. Sometimes when posting a reply my usage is still way too high though.

It's the Flash ads (which I hate). It's not just MacNN, it's all the sites that use Flash ads with lots of animation. The Flash implementation on Mac OS X seems really lousy, IMHO.
