Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a macbook air. i was going to go for the less expensive of the two options, but i've just noticed that the other one might be more durable - against knocks etc - it has a solid-state drive.

I'm not sure how much difference this makes - does this mean it's a lot more durable against knocks etc?

thank you

Solid state drives have no moving parts and are impervious to many of the dangers harddrives face as a result of shocks: head crashs, faulty bearings, etc. So, yes, they are more durable. And they are completely silent (although recent notebook drives are very silent, too).
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
