I probably should have known that* but in any event I really need to be cutting back on my sodium intake these days.

*I've been amused by your Brit living in France thing for a while. Originally you struck me as being very American, until you started mentioning how you were British and such.

I like things like small cars for city driving, but my opinion doesn't count because I prefer not to actually OWN a car for city driving.

You're as American as Wayne Brady is black.*

I defend the US in front of Brits and Frogs as much as I defend Frogs and Brits in these forums.

This thread is about Sealobo's car though.

haha, yes, I was wondering about the blue tint, but though it might be due to the fluorescent lighting. Beautiful, pastel colors like yours and 'ye ye green' rock.

I don't get you, man. You seem like you're into cars, yet you can't even wire a radar detector with an inline fuse. Do you even change your own oil?

I suppose. That must be an expensive hobby if you cannot do anything yourself. I'd hate it.

Since most people don't own a car there, that's exactly what it is: a hobby.

Ummm. Even Clarkson doesn't change his own oil.

Exactly...for some reason Rob seems to equate "car guy" with the car you own and the work you do on it.

Everything is expensive here. Hong Kong is just like NYC or London.

I just bought a parking space for US32,000 few months ago. It costed more than the Fiat 500.

It's a very nice parking space, Sea, if that's it in the photo. Right there on its own with nobody next to you to open their doors onto your paintwork and all that.

Pretty sure you would equate the same, if it weren't for the fact you must disagree with every single thing I say on these forums, troll.

I've been driving a Fiat 500 in Indianapolis for the last month or so my self. I race it every Friday night at the local track.

Seriously, I have the exact same kit in the link pictures, I even painted it exactly the same. It looks like yours!

Clearly you've never heard of Jeremy Clarkson.

I've seen the commercials for all the new Jeeps. Apparently you're a cougar with a pink purse, somehow simultaneously holding a chihuahua and a cell phone while you drive.

I guess I don't consider him a real car person. I consider him an entertainer. He's funny, but if you don't turn your own wrenches... you're not really into it.

Jezza dumbs himself down on TV though. I've listened to some of his radio interviews and he seems to be pretty knowledgeable. But you're right, he doesn't turn his own wrench. I think Hammond is a true enthusiast... May, sort of.

Are Ferrari owners "car people"? Let's assume that they are (because if they weren't, they'd be driving a Benz or something like that, right?). Anyone who owns a Ferrari later than the Mondial doesn't turn their own wrenches. Mainly because they can't.
Are Veyron owners into cars? Do they turn their own wrenches?
Are Lambo owners into cars? Do they turn their own wrenches?

Did you program the ECU on your S6 yourself? No? Then you can't be into cars that much.

We could have hit on your problem with women though... ...because you don't personally give them their smear tests and mammograms they simply don't think you're really into them.

I don't mess with what's under the bonnet of my car, at least not more than check fluids. I think that's the same with just about any newer high performance vehicle. My Bronco is another matter, I've been known to pull the heads on it just out of boredom.

No, they aren't. They're just rich people. They do not appreciate a car unless it costs a lot of money. They are generally snobby and hate certain badges. Hence, in many car enthusiast clubs, you see this type of sticker on a car:

You'd have to be mental to own a Ferrari/Lamborghini/etc and do your own work. Best to leave it to the dealer to mess it up, not yourself.

I was reading Car & Driver's review of the 458 Italia today and they had a depressing tone throughout the article. Not because the car is bad, but because the car is too good for those who can afford it to enjoy. That's how I feel about exotics. I'd love to have one, but I wouldn't like to be in a position to own one because I wouldn't have the time to enjoy it at all.

Make yer mind up. The people I'm talking about are enthusiastic about cars, thus like to drive their cars as much as possible. The people you're talking about are enthusiastic about mechanics, thus like to spend time in their garages with their wrenches (for which owning a car is a good excuse).

Is Jay Kay passionate about cars? Does he do his own wrench work?

It's quite obvious that you don't know any rich people, Rob.

Well, no. You'd have to be a Ferrari or Lamborghini mechanic. It's nigh on impossible to work on these modern machines yourself. Change a wheel maybe, but that's it.

About $250-$350 depending on radio and battery options. The basic Tamiya Fiat 500 kit is $140 but you need to buy a radio, battery, and charger for another $100+. And you'll need to assemble it.

A ready to run kit is $220 and a battery and charger for another $50.

To be set up at a competitive racing level would run you about $500.
