I have been trying to delete mail attachments in Mail, BUT KEEP the mail. I have not found a way to do this, has anyone? Additionally, I want to archive my mail, and still have no method to do this.

Please stay away from Eudora solutions since I still dislike it more than having to use Entourage again.

On my Windoze NT box at work right now, so I can't check if this works, but...
You should be able to go to File > Save As and then select saving it in text format.
Don't have any suggestions on the archiving issue, alas.

I want to save IN Mail, as well as archive outside of mail. However, any mail I save into another folder in the Mail application contains all the attachements, and there is no way to remove them.

I think there's an option under your account preferences to 'Partially receive messages over 20k' - usually strips away the attachments.

Hope it helps

This is very dodgy and not an ideal solution but...

Forward the email in question to yourself, and, if your email client automatically includes attachments in forwards, edit out the attachment before sending.
