Hey guys, tired of what noob mac switchers have to say about Aperture in comparison to photoshop. Tell me your 1-10 rating, and explain why or why not you like it, and why it would be a good product to use vs. photoshop.

Thanks, Jess

Aperture doesn't compare to Photoshop. Apples and oranges.

Aperture compares to Adobe Lightroom.

Have a look at Photoshop TV: http://www.photoshoptv.com/

In episode 1 they briefly talk about Aperture and they don't like it. In episode 12 they talk about Lightroom and they love the beta.

Yeah you really can't compare the two, they are totally different applications aimed at doing different jobs.

No, because they're two different applications. Besides we were all noobs at one time and a little friendly advice/information to those people goes a long way.

something else to consider - Aperture is 1.0 after all. It's very polished for a 1.0 application (and for the record, I doubt they will turn it into something like Photoshop, it serves a very distinct niche that has lots of money for custom software applications that the typical person never uses).
