Hey All!

I just got my G4! Yay! After a half hour of UPS hell...

Now... I connected the machine to an older monitor that I had lying around (VGA). I connected it, and it worked fine at 640x480... Silly me, I wanted something higher. So I change it to 832x624. No go... The thing is now over/under scanning, and I can't get it back! I've hooked it up to a newer monitor that I have, and I get an image here, so I tried loading an alias of the Monitors control panel in the start-up folder, and then try clicking like mad, to see if I can get it.

I've also tried: Zapping PRAM
Deleting Monitors Prefs.

Help! My neck is getting sore from looking to the side already! 8)

So, like, not the Monitors prefs? No, haven't tried that... I'll give that a go.

OK, I tried deleting both the Display prefs and the Monitors prefs, and it still doesn't work!

I don't get it! The deletion of the Display prefs made sense!

Ahh!!!

I finally got it working!

What I eventually had to do:
*Call Apple Tech Support
*Use a shareware copy of SwitchRes
*Zap PRAM

Zap the PRAM, and enter with extensions off. Turn on *only* SwitchRes. Go into your extensions folder, and disable "System Monitor Plugins". Restarted a few times. SwitchRes acts as a crutch, because it puts back the last used resolution that it remembered. Then, I was able to open up the Monitors control panel, and set the pref!

IT WORKS!!!
