Get yourselves one of THESE and be happy.

It's got your much coveted USB connection.

It's also got a 10/100 ethernet connection- which seems to me a great *duh, why didn't anyone think of that before?* sort of idea... though it seems a bit strange they don't say as much about it being a network device as they do about it being an internet device.

It's got double the ipod's capacity- 10 to 12 GB.

Runs on Linux and has it's own built in utilities.

It's got a PC card slot for added storage and for use with wireless LAN.

Downers- it costs more. ($600? *yikes!* Kind of makes $400 sound a lot better eh?) Okay, so you can keep grousing about price.

Is it Mac compatible? (Probably safe to assume not for now).

'8 level settings' of audio rather than an adjustable range? Uh oh. Crap sound? Or is 8 enough?

Their poorly explained features like 'secure internet sharing' and 'online archives' sound creepy to me, and possibly fraught with some goofy anti-piracy device-castration.

It's probably bigger than the iPod. Certainly it's a bit longer.

It's probably also one in a long line of similar products about to spew out onto the market.

Plays MP3s yup.

Well,I heard quite a lot about the iPod from people: "Is it PC compatible?" so apparently some people do care.

Works as a HD, yes.

Battery life.. no clue.

That brick game... would that be the one where you use the device itself to knock someone upside the head with?

Anyway, I posted this an an alternative, for all those who were acting like they needed an MP3 player like the iPod PRONTO, but couldn't get it thanks to some missing features they wanted like USB. So now, they won't have to -presumably- slit their wrists afterall, this one has many of the things they were grousing about.
