I'm a fan of Thunderbird, but enough with the 'on x date so-and-so wrote' reply header. I've read the back and forth about how this is supposedly more logical and better, but I'm not buying it.

I've also researched this extensively, but can't find decent (read: simple enough) instructions on the Internet. Supposedly it can be done.

Here's to hoping Mac users can supply - once again - a usable, easy-to-understand solution.

Thanks for any assistance.

What exactly does the string say? If setting this is not an option in the prefs, you could try grepping for it within the Application bundle. If the string is not saved as a plain text string, you are probably out of luck.

Just looking for a simple solution. If I have to "go grepping" and modifying obscure text strings, I'd have stuck with my Google results.

If there is no extension to do what you want, I don't know...

Unfortunately not. There used to be one called TB header quote or similar, but it isn't compatible with TB 2. Right now I keep TB2 up because it's a lightweight email reader that works great with IMAP IDLE, but I revert to Entourage for actually composing and replying.

I found this site with an extension. It was updated as of a week ago.
https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos...equote-en.html

It's changed my TB2 reply headers to

Much better than before, but not exactly in Outlook's order.
