Good luck on the auctions.
Just curious, what are your plans with no cable? Trying an AppleTV solution or just cutting out TV watching altogether?
I'm looking at the the option of canceling cable as well and researching the AppleTV with Boxee option.
Thanks and good luck.

A lot of content you can get free these days, on Hulu or abc.com -- I made a short list of our "must have" TV shows and almost all of them are available on the Internet for free if you're willing to watch commercials. I consider it a trade-off for the lack of a monthly cable subscription. I don't think I can express how hard it is to give up TiVo though -- they are truly the "Apple of DVRs."

It's been awhile since I've owned a Tivo brand DVR, but I still remember when I switched to the generic one from my cable company. I missed the Tivo a lot!
Sounds like you're think the same thing as me. So much is available for free. I was planning on taking advantage of the DTV transition coming up soon too. Oh well- guess I'll have to wait on that one.

Why don't you hold on to the Series 3 or the Tivo HD? (a bit too late, I guess...)
Both have Antenna inputs and you can at least still use it for broadcast TV.

True, but to be honest I could use the money the TiVos will bring in.
