I seldom play DVDs on my iMac OS 9.0.4.

I tried to tonight, and at first I got an error message about the screen being wrong, and now it just freezes. I went to Software Update (ha ha. I see from another post that I'm not the only one who has problems with it.) and downloaded the latest DVD Player.

It didn't help. The program freezes when I try to play a DVD.

Also, I had to turn off my Apple Audio Extension, because it was making my machine crash on start-up.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Well first of all you need the Apple Audio extension. Disabling it might be the cause of your problem. As for why the extension was crashing your machine, either install a fresh one or their is possibly an extension conflict ith another third-party piece of software you installed.
