How to Convert home video DVD Movie to iTunes

I have an older video on a dvd. There are two folders on the disc, each with files within them. I cannot figure out how to convert the thing into an MPEG or a similar file so I can put save it on the computer, maybe in iTunes.
The folders are:
Video TS and Audio TS.

Handbrake can encode directly from audio and video TS files?

Yep. Handbrake is pretty awesome. There isn't much it can't convert from.

Handbrake can also convert directly from an .ISO file.
