Has anyone replaced the power led in a slot load iMac?

I have the service manual, and it shows a small circuit board that the power switch is mounted on.

Looks easy enough to take apart. I want to replace the green led with a white one (like the newer CRT iMacs had).

Has anyone done this before?

Have you opened it up and taken a look? It may be pretty simple.

A zillion people have replaced LEDs. Go to any PC Modding forum and you'll find folks who have.
