TL;DW: The original image was posted in ProPhoto RGB color space. Android supports sRGB and converts other color spaces to sRGB to display. In the process of converting this photo to sRGB, the luminance of one specific pixel is calculated to be larger than 255 due to a rounding error. It can display the image just fine and screenshots of the image work because it's just a picture of the screen, not a native conversion of the image, but if you set the image as the wallpaper it gets stuck in a loop trying to convert the original.
