The iPhone 6 and 6s are attractive phones, and we don't think that anyone here would disagree with that. They are, however, also rather expensive phones -- which means that chances are, you're going to want to cover up your phone with a protective case. Instead of slapping on some bulky, ugly case, why not try the
Clic 360, a case designed with both protection and style in mind.
The Clic 360 is supposed to combine the slim-form fit of a snap-on case with the protection of a much bulkier, rugged case. It's also designed to be a looker, which we're not going to argue. The case comes in five colors, black, olive, sand, marsala, and the one we got our hands on, which was navy. It combines a canvas back with a soft, supple leather that is expertly color-matched, so you end up with a case that looks good, feels good, and protects your iPhone from damage.
So, what's Clic 360 like? Honestly, we were surprised by just how nice the case was. We're used to these quick, snap-on single-piece cases feeling a bit cheap, but this one feels sturdy, and as though it would actually hold up against some mild to moderate drop damage, and it should certainly keep your phone from getting scuffed or scraped with normal wear and tear. It's rated to exceed military drop standards, though we're still willing to bet that a fall onto concrete might not end with the best of outcomes for your phone.
Still, on the inside of the case, there's a rubber mesh that is designed to absorb shock, and keeps the phone tight in the case without causing any damage to the back. The one part about the case that we're thrilled to see is full coverage on the top edge of the phone, which isn't typical in these style of cases. It also gives the phone enough of a bezel so if you sit it face down on the table, you won't run the risk of scratching up your screen.
The backing of the phone is British Millerain waxed canvas, which we think has held up fairly well. We've been using this phone case for a little over a week, and we're surprised by how little the case shows any signs of dirt or debris. Even being taken in and out of hoodie pockets, messenger bags, jeans, and laid on furniture, the case hasn't picked up lint or crumbs, though we do notice a bit of discoloration on the back.
While we're not sure if it wins for most rugged phone case we've tried out, we certainly think it's well in the running for most stylish rugged case we've ever tried out. If you're interested in getting your own Clic 360, you can
get one from the Native Union online store for $40.
Who would benefit from the Clic 360:
If you're looking for an easy-to-install, professional-looking, protective phone case that doesn't have the bulk of Otterboxes or Lifeproof cases, this is a nice alternative.
Who might not need the Clic 360:
If you're prone to dropping your phone a lot, we'd still think that something a bit bulkier might be a smarter option for you in the long run.
