So I am one of the many plagued by the bad logic board problem. I originally brought it in for repairs in September and it worked fine until about 2 1/2 weeks ago, then the logic board went again.

I sent it in to Apple thinking it would be back in 3-4 days like last time, but, of course, now that I NEED my computer, it is going to be gone for who knows how long. I am now over 2 weeks behind on my senior thesis, I have a meeting with a panel from my department to go over my thesis this week, and I can't finish my work. The customer service person at Apple's only suggestion was to find a library with a Mac. I can't even use the computers on campus because I need Macs that are connected via wireless with shell access and superuser priveliges.

So it basically comes down to me groveling at the panel's feet next week begging for an extension of who knows how long. Either that or resign the class and wait another semester to graduate and lose a few thousand dollars in tuition and fees.

Uggh...sorry, just needed to vent somewhere I know people are going through similar problems.

I feel with you, man. My iBook's logic board failed for the second time last friday, and my thesis deadline is this friday. Luckily, I was using LaTeX to type my thesis, so I was able continue my work on my PC using Linux. Still sucks.

Last time the mainboard failed was just before MacExpo London where I was giving software presentations. You don't even want to know how expensive that rental PowerBook was I had to use...

Those iBooks are damn smart. They always pick the possibily worst time to fail. Keep an eye on them, it's a conspiracy.

Stink different.
